Ten Fantastic Reads from Victoria Primary School

The pupils in P5H at Victoria Primary School in Falkirk have been enjoying some great books so far this year. Here are some of their top reads, including comments from the readers themselves.

Tom Gates is Absolutely Fantastic by Liz Pichon

Ross says: 'My favourite author is Tom Gates. I like his books because they are very funny. I really enjoyed Absolutely Fantastic.'

Secret Princesses: Picture Perfect by Rosie Banks

Katie says: 'I thought this book was very funny and mysterious. I liked how two of the secret princesses can make dreams come true.'

Badly Drawn BethBadly Drawn Beth by Knife and Packer

Beth says: 'It is a very funny book and Beth is a fun adventurous girl. It is a great book for all ages.'

Elmer by David McKee

Kyle says: 'I like the elephant in the book. The author is David McKee.'

Pippa Morgan’s Diary by Annie Kelsey

Shannon says: 'I love Pippa Morgan. I told my friend to read it and she started reading it and now she really likes it. It makes me smile and it's very funny.'

Erin says: 'It is a great book. It is about ghost hunting and making Sophie smile. It is such a great book I would read it 1000000 times. Hopefully Pippa makes Sophie smile and Pippa can find some ghosts.'

Isaac says: 'This book is by Roald Dahl. I love it when Sophie went in the snozcumber to hide from the giant.'

Olivia and the Orchid Fairy by Daisy Meadows

Kasi says: 'I like this book because there are six unicorns in it. My favourite animal is a unicorn. The author is Daisy Meadow.'

A Squash and a Squeeze by Julia Donaldson; illustrated by Axel Scheffler

Connie says: 'My favourite book is A Squash and a Squeeze. I liked this book because it was about a lady that feels lonely but had lots of animals so she took them all in but then it was a squash and squeeze.'

Flat StanleyFlat Stanley by Jeff Brown; illustrated by Scott Nash

Sophia says 'My favourite author is Jeff Brown. I thought this book was good, funny and silly.'
